Caring about Carers Awards

Please see attached information about this year’s Caring about Carers Awards for GPs which Carers Trust is promoting jointly with the Royal College of GPs.  This is year 3 of these awards and it would be great to increase the number of applications and really establish their value.

This year the College has decided that they would like to accept nominations from carers and Carers Centres. It could be a great way for you to endorse positive change in practices where you have been involved in work with them. 

After nomination, practices will be asked to complete a short form of assessment  (a copy is attached for your information – not for sharing).  After a slightly disappointing list of nominees last year, the College is keen to support increased identification of carers on practise lists, and has introduced a minimum requirement of at least 2% of the practise population being on the carers’ register.
