About
us
The Carers’ Resource is an independent charity,
with a board of trustees and around 50 employees and 50 volunteers.
Our work is recognised nationally, regionally and locally.
As an acknowledged centre of excellence, we were invited
to join the Princess Royal Trust for Carers (PRTC), a network
of 128 carers’ centres operating nationwide. The patron
of the PRTC is Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne.
With a range of business and commercial skills, and some of
them carers themselves, our trustees are committed to developing
and supporting the work of the Carers’ Resource. Click

With your help we can do even more…
We have achieved a tremendous amount and our service has
developed in all kinds of ways. We have faced numerous challenges,
not least in finding the funds to sustain the service.
Awareness of the needs of carers is now much higher than
it was and there is now legislation in place to protect carers.
Any service for the cared-for person is now also supposed
to address the needs of the carers.
But the demands on carers are growing too. They are expected
to look after relatives and friends with far more complex
needs than was the norm. People are living longer. Stays in
hospitals are shorter. Finding help can be confusing. Services
are often over-stretched.
Today’s carers are tomorrow’s patients. They
need care themselves. They deserve support in their own right
and we are uniquely placed to provide this. The Carers’
Resource will be working with carers to ensure their needs
are met. Please help us to sustain and develop our specialist
service.
